According to the presented program at the Society Congress in Iasi we want to develop and enrich the medical scientific and educational activity in our domain. One of the ways to achieve this goal is to encourage the research and dissemination activity of our members.
Until now, this activity has been carried out by the independent efforts of some people, but it has become very difficult, especially in recent years, related to the financing of the publications, lack of high quality communications and, above all, the need for Journal indexation in international databases.
By analyzing the existing publications, their tradition and their current indexation, we believe that we can carry on and develop the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The Journal has a special tradition and we have identified the necessary resources for future development and financing.
The publisher of the Ginecologia.Ro Journal was contacted and a collaboration that allows us to edit both journals was discussed, involving the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Ginecologia.Ro, a highly indexed and well developed journal. „Taking over” Ginecologia. Ro under the leadership of SOGR does not involve any extra cost, and we believe that this is a „win-win” situation for both the publisher and SOGR.
We believe that by involving the members of the Directors Committee, Editorial staff, members of the Academic Committee, leaders and medical school trainers, and all Society members, we can have two journals that represent and promote our activity and have real chances to develop, and become PubMed and ISI indexed.
The publisher has the due to edit and publish the Obstetrics and Gynecology Journal in special digital graphics and to provide the journal for all Society paying members and a printed format with a quarterly appearance that will be requested and paid. The advantage is that the publisher will perform the entire editing, page-linking, linking of the electronic form to the Society site and will supplement the publishing costs by attracting sponsors from the pharmaceutical and medical industry.
